I’m an author of a paper. Is it mandatory to upload video this year? No, it is not mandatory. Your paper will be published in the proceedings of 2020.
I want to prepare a video but I won’t be available during the virtual event. Is it possible ? Yes it is.
If the video is not uploaded, will the paper still be published? Yes, video upload is optional and is not required for paper publication.
Who decides which videos are broadcasted during the main sessions? Decision is taken by the Internal Program Committee of the Congress.
How can I be sure that my video will be made available ? You need to (i) have answered positively in Conftool before June 22, (ii) upload a video before July 24 that (iii) follow our guidelines.
Is the participation in the “Virtual Event” a prerequisite for presenting a technical paper at the 2021 event in Nice, France? No, the two events are totally independent. Papers presented in 2021 will correspond to contributions newly submitted early 2021.
During the Virtual Event
Which day will my video be broadcasted ? Your video will be available during the 3 days of the Event. In addition, if your video is a “Feature Video”, it will be broadcasted during a main session of a specific day, which depends on the Technical Commission your paper falls into.
Am I required to present during the Virtual Event ? Only if you are included in a Live Talk session. Otherwise, your availability during your video broadcast is optional.
How will Q&A work ? Questions and Answers will be enabled only for Live Talks and Feature videos for which the speaker has indicated being available (more information coming soon).
What is a “Live Talk” ? This is a 15 minutes talk for which the speakers present in live and for which time is given for Q&A.
What is a “Feature Video” ? This is a 10 minutes pre-recorded video that is broadcasted during specific thematic slots of a main session.
Which day is dedicated for which Technical Commission ? August 31 is for Technical Commissions I and IV. September 1 is for Technical Commissions II, V and Youth Forum. September 2 is for Technical Commission III.
My paper was submitted in a Thematical Session and not directly in a Technical Commission. How can I know which day is the correct one ? Please log in into Conftool and have a look to your paper information.
After the Virtual Event
A speaker in the ISPRS Virtual Event for this 2020 edition will include a participation certificate? Yes, we will provide a certificate.
Why papers can be presented by video only this year and not next year? We will also have videos next year, more details before the end of the year. In addition, similarly to 2020, it is recommended to link the 2021 submission with a short video so as to convince the International Program Committee to include you in long oral sessions.

Video preparation
Which file formats are acceptable ? mp4 is the only solution. Uploading other video formats, PDF, PPT or KeyNote files is not possible.
What are the acceptable dimensions and file sizes ? A 16:9 ratio should be adopted with a minimal height of 480 pixels. 1GB is the maximum file size.

Where and when should I upload my video ? Please upload your video before July 24, otherwise you will not be included in the program. Guidelines are available here.
Can my video be more than 10 minutes ? No, you should stick to the duration limit. This is necessary for the program. Longer videos will not be included in the program.
How can I keep my time limit ? We advise you to prepare your video in advance. Write exactly what you want to say, avoid lengthy sentences and slides, record your talk and time it. Do not try to present too much material. 8-10 slides appears to be a reasonable limit.
Can I see examples of videos ? Youtube and SlidesLive library provide numerous examples in computer vision and machine learning.

What are the conditions to be part of the audience? You need to create an account first on the registration platform Key4Events (link available Mid-August) and agree to be included in the ISPRS mailing list.

How do you handle different time zones ? First, pre-recorded videos will be broadcasted 24 hours a day during 3 days and available on-demand through a catalogue. Secondly, live talks are scheduled to partly fit with Asian and American time zones.
What technology do I need to attend the conference ? You will only need a computer and networking.
